What is plasma-cutting technology?

Plasma cutting is a process that uses a high velocity jet of ionized gas that is delivered from a constricting orifice. The high velocity ionized gas, that is, the plasma, conducts electricity from the torch of the plasma cutter to the work piece. The plasma heats the work piece, melting the material. The high velocity stream of ionized gas mechanically blows the molten metal away, severing the material.

Key advantages

Powermax105 - With the maximum power and performance for air plasma in our line, the Powermax105 delivers superior cut quality and piercing up to 22 mm (7/8"). It has the duty cycle and reliability for the most demanding cutting and gouging jobs. Seven Duramax torch styles provide greater versatility for hand cutting, portable automation, x-y table cutting, and gouging. Smart Sense™ technology automatically adjusts the gas pressure according to cutting mode and torch lead length. It also detects electrode end-of-life, automatically turning off power to the torch to prevent potential damage to other parts or the work piece.

Proline 2260 machineThe ProLine 2260 offers expanded thickness capability and optimized cutting speeds, and is the highest amperage precision high current density plasma cutting system in the ProLine family. This manually controlled 275 amp system can cut most metals up to 1 ¼'' (32.0mm) thick, and has a maximum capacity of 2 ½'' (65.0mm). Uncompromising precision cut quality, combined with excellent processing speed and low initial investment, equates to the lowest possible cost to produce quality finished parts.

The ProLine 2260 is one of the three systems in the KALIBURN "ProLine" family. The ProLine 2150 and ProLine 2200 Plasma Cutting Systems offer identical cut quality but each has a unique amperage range and corresponding thickness capacity.
